New website, new realXtend!

Version 0.5 for the Avatar services are now available as well as test versions of the ModreX project. Modular realXtend is an interesting development that enables the use of realXtend features on top of the latest OpenSimulator versions, it will also be the initial server platform for the next-generation realXtend viewer development.

The realXtend team has been hard at work since we decided on creating an entirely new viewer earlier this year. There is a lot of work to be done and we are happy to welcome capable programmers' contributions to the open source project. The architecture is designed to be modular, eventually enabling connectivity to a multitude of different virtual worlds platforms. There's going to be a preview release with very limited functionality in the summer so that everyone interested can take a look without having to compile the source.

The next generation technology is being developed in parallel with the 0.5 -line of existing realXtend software and to differentiate between the development tracks and to lessen confusion we need a cool name for the project. Let us hear your fantastic ideas at info@realXtend.org!
